Saro Agro: Expanding Market Reach Through Strategic Onboarding

For Saro Agro, AgriEn Network’s facilitation of the THRIVE Fair (an initial onboarding event) proved instrumental in overcoming the inherent challenges of reaching small-scale farmers in remote areas. This platform effectively aggregated farmers in one accessible location, significantly reducing our market entry barriers and allowing us to directly engage with communities previously difficult to serve. This direct engagement led to tangible results: coinciding with the opening of our Kasama Branch, the fair directly facilitated new customer acquisition, with farmers from Kasama and Mpika visiting our new outlet. Crucially, it enabled us to establish and maintain close contact with organized groups like the Mwamba Kasama Onion Association, who are actively supported by World Vision and Vision Fund. This sustained connection is a testament to how the THRIVE Partnership Program de-risks market access and cultivates long-term, impactful relationships for Saro Agro, strengthening our presence in Zambia’s agricultural landscape.

Good Nature Agro: Laying the Foundation for Long-Term Farmer Development

The THRIVE Fair, organized by AgriEn Network and World Vision, to strategically bridge gaps in our operational reach, connecting us directly with farmer groups outside our usual catchment areas. Our core objective at these onboarding events extends beyond immediate sales; it’s about deeply understanding the farming community’s needs to drive sustainable change and move farmers from poverty to middle-class.
A significant outcome of this engagement was the successful formation of a direct partnership with World Vision farmers in Mpika, facilitated by through collaboration with Vision Fund in the bean production value chain. This impactful partnership exemplifies how the THRIVE Partnership Program creates concrete linkages, providing the robust foundation for these long-term, transformative collaborations. It ensures that our services directly address farmer needs and contribute to their sustained development over time, built on the regular conversations initiated through the program.
